MEMBER ALERT!The City of Cleveland, Ohio recently revised its ordinance with regard to code violations. The bond form has not changed but the revised ordinance now stipulates that a 90 day abandonment of a project constitutes a code violation thus a claim can be made on the bond. In addition, the City of Cleveland increased the bond penalty to $25,000. MEMBER ALERT!The City of Bedford, Ohio recently changed its Contractor Bond form (Co 1303.08). First, it has implemented performance obligation language. Second, it has increased the bond penalty to $25,000. Third, though an expiring bond, Bedford will not except cancellation notices. Lastly, language has been instituted detailing the need for the timely completion of work. A copy of Bedford's bond form may be downloaded here.
